In this workshop we will look at the language of Forest Therapy guiding as a craft:
- What makes an invitation simple, open, sensory and unlimited
- What it really means to be invitational and embody it
- Why describing rather than prescribing changes what participants are able to feel.
We'll deepen into the pacing and the challenges of saying rather less than more.
Through simple Alexander Technique based practices for body awareness, you will notice how posture, breath and unnecessary tension shape the way you sound, and how releasing that tension brings up your own authentic voice.
Not a meditation guru voice, but yours, used consciously as an extra instrument for guiding
Kat Mertens: EcoNIDRA™ Founder, Trainer and Heart-Keeper, Certified Forest Bathing Guide & European TreeClimbing Therapist
Kat’s passion and mission are to help people reconnect deeply with nature, including their inner nature and the nature of their own body. Her mission is to spread awareness about and the felt sense of deep nature connection as a tool to improve people's mental, emotional and physical well-being, as well as the well-being of the more-than-human world. Matching our heartbeat to the beat of the planet can change the world.
As a certified Forest Bathing Guide, Kat has guided more than 500 groups in both private and corporate settings. Kat has trained hundreds of people to become Forest Bathing or EcoNIDRA™ guides. As a certified European TreeClimbing Therapist, she has been guiding safe, self-paced tree-climbing experiences in the connective and relational Forest Therapy style: the tree is the therapist and the relationship is being formed by embodied relating. She offers EcoNIDRA™ trainings and sessions (in hammocks), and tree climbing and forest bathing for individuals and groups in the Netherlands where she lives together with her husband, young son, old cat and 100+ plants.
